The long Easter weekend officially kicked off the tourist season in the Castellana Caves (Ba), which had already been recording significant visitor numbers in the previous weeks. A total of 5932 tourists visited the Castellana karst site between Saturday, April 16th and Monday, April 18th, once again confirming it as one of Puglia's top paid tourist destinations.
After two years of closure for Easter, the Castellana Caves have returned to one of the most significant times of the year, attracting not only local tourists but also those from all over Italy, and a significant return of international visitors. Specifically, there were 2098 visitors at Easter and 2471 on Easter Monday.

After two years of forced closure during the Easter period, many Italians chose the Castellana Caves for the Easter weekend, and many foreigners chose our karst site as their favorite destination last weekend. I must thank all the staff who have worked hard these past few days to make everything run smoothly and who are dedicated to serving our visitors every day.”
The Castellana Caves are now in full swing as the tourist season gets underway. They will continue to be open daily to welcome visitors ahead of a summer full of exciting prospects, including the special Speleonight tour (next event Saturday, April 23rd) and the Hell in the Cave show, which will be repeated in April on Sunday, April 24th.
