Grotteland's budget, truly a marvel

Synergy, dedication, passion, and teamwork. These are the key ingredients that helped transform what seemed like a mission impossible into a successful first edition.

Castellana Grotte, August 12, 2015 – Now that the spotlight has dimmed on the stage of “Grotteland, Summer Wonder,” the series of events organized by Grotte di Castellana Srl and sponsored by the Municipality of Castellana Grotte, it's time to take stock and take stock.

The "Grotteland" project was born with the intention of creating a space, a village, in Castellana where we could host and entertain all age groups, with a special focus on the littlest ones, aiming to involve as many families as possible. We therefore conceived of fun and nature workshops, as well as Speleofamily, a special cave tour especially for children. And that's not all. We also thought about young people, making the pine forest area available for emerging rock bands of national and international fame. We also offered sports enthusiasts the opportunity to play beach volleyball and beach tennis on the sand, challenge each other with rock climbing, and have fun with paintball. All this was enhanced by a shopping area and about fifteen food and wine stands offering only typical dishes from our tradition. Finally, a stage hosted events of all kinds for ten days, from book presentations to performances by dance schools, from theater to major concerts with Bianca Atzei and Eugenio Finardi, and even cabaret with Pio and Amedeo. With a project like this, which included all these initiatives, we hoped to achieve a positive response, also in terms of promoting the Castellana Grotte name to local tourism. It truly seemed like a mission impossible, especially since we had no history and very little time available. It could have been seen as a gamble, but we take on these challenges with determination and determination, and I can say that the results were there. The data we collected from official sources shows truly positive figures, with approximately seventy-five thousand people attending the event over the ten evenings. A number that I believe makes not only Grotte di Castellana Srl proud, but also the entire city of Castellana-Grotte.

What are the ingredients for this successful formula?

The key ingredient was teamwork. The collaboration of associations like Gruppo Puglia Grotte, ATC Sottoropra, Castellana Conviene, Agica, Incontrada, Opificio delle Idee, Culturama, The Art of Sport, ASD Paintball, the Astronomical Observatory, La Compagnia degli Scarti, and Libreria Piepoli. We have always believed, and have demonstrated, together, that when you look beyond personal gain, results are quick to arrive. It truly demonstrated the value, resources, and intelligence of the people of good will that Castellana undoubtedly possesses.

The question everyone is asking now is just one: will there be a second edition of Grotteland?

We can only renew, reshape, and improve an experience like this year's. We'll ensure that Grotteland isn't just a one-off event. We've even launched the idea of turning it into a brand, because thinking about creating something even bigger around the Grotte institution doesn't cost anything but can truly give us so much. We have to believe in it, and we all have to do it together, because the entire community would benefit.
